The LOOK- Monday March 31,2014

Weekday woes turned into weekday woohoo's!

A new week has started and short of dragging myself out of bed and propping my eyelids open with toothpicks, I decided that this week I would get motivated and try to be just a little bit more chipper and industrious at work.

Already aware somewhere in the back of my mind that I was going to be late for work, I threw open my wardrobe and began to look for something to throw on, that didn't require any ironing and that would look good :)

Sound simple enough? When you're on the clock it can actually be quite difficult. Anyhow I managed to throw something together. Have a look at what I wore below.

1. Black sleeveless cotton empire waist dress from H&M- AED 30 (on sale).

2. Black cropped blazer from Forever 21- AED 120.

3. Black ballet pumps with gold bow detail from ALDO- AED 100.

.

 4. Double gold band necklace with turquoise inlay and carve detail from Forever21- AED 59.

This necklace was a real steal because if you feel the turquoise and gold carving are a bit much and want the classy sheen of the gold but a simpler look, then you can just flip the chain over and wear it. The underside of this accessory is a plain bronze and looks great as a little bit of oomph for a something basic or a little more drab.

5. Dull silver bracelet with turquoise inlay from the Syria stall at Global Village- AED 35.

I chose to accessorize the bright gold necklace with this dull silver bracelet because
a) Both accessories have turquoise inlay.
b) The bright gold and dull silver bring a lovely contrast to this fairly minimalistic ensemble.

And that lovely ladies is what I wore to work today. The dress is a tad short to be super corporate so lucky me that I didn't have any meetings to go too. What do you think? Be sure to drop me a message and let me know!

Arivederci until then!xx

Time for a Tea Party!

When i got married two years ago my grandmother gave me a lovely hand painted tea set that was handed down to her. As beautiful and delicate as it was, i decided it would be a crime not to use it and began hosting a monthly afternoon tea party for a few close friends. :)

The theme of this particular tea party was "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and one of my guests- the lovely Maha Sheriff- was dressed to perfection! Now as you may know renowned Jeweler's Tiffanys signature colours are black and baby blue. With this tidbit in mind, have a look at Maha's attire below.

1. Black basic leotard with 3/4 sleeves from Forever21- AED 30

2. Powder blue high waist skirt with black bow belt from Forever21- AED 49

3. Black peeptoe suede pumps from Charles and Keith- AED 380

With this simplistic style, Maha has managed to encapsulate the theme as well as wear something comfortable.

For a choice of handbag you could carry a white tote if you're out running errands or meeting friends for lunch or trade in the tote for a polka date or sparkly silver clutch for a more sophisticated brunch or drinks.

Is this something you could see yourself in? or do you think its missing something? Be sure to leave me a comment with your thoughts and suggestions.

Until tomorrow Fashys xx
